The swimming pool industry finally is getting some affirmation about swimming pools' and spas' water conservation. In their article "Water agencies are learning pools aren't a big factor during drought," Matt Stevens at the LA Times reports "[swimming p]ools aren't the water wasters some have made them out to be."
In addition, Zodiac claims, "Approximately 13,000 new pools will be built in California during 2015. The amount of water it will take to fill these new pools is approximately 8/1000 of 1 percent of just the state’s water used for urban purposes."
