With Labor Day upon us, we at California Pools, would like to take a moment to truly reflect upon this national holiday. Why do we celebrate this day? It is more than a day off of school for kids and a day home from work for moms and dads. It is not a last ditch effort to squeeze in one last weekend of camping while the weather is still beautiful and before the fall festivities and obligations kick in. According to Wikipedia, “Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, laws and well-being of the country.”
With that said, California Pools would like to send out a heart felt thank you to the many workers who have contributed to our business since 1952. For over 65 years we have had men and woman working extremely hard at their trade to help build beautiful and custom swimming pools and spas. With their help, craftsmanship and expertise we have built over 70,000 gorgeous backyards.
Sometimes workers can get over-looked and under-valued, which shouldn’t be the case. As with our company, we couldn’t do what we do with out them. Swimming pool construction begins with excavation. Hard working excavators dig out the pool shape and depth of the pool with tractors, which requires much knowledge and expertise. The next major step is Plumbing. Our plumbers make sure that all of the water features will work properly once the pipes are underground and the pool is finished. The steel crew then comes in and builds a protective cage-like base for the pool and spa. This steel reinforces the strength of the pool. Once steel is finished, the gunite crew shoots in a concrete and rock mixture with a high-pressured hose, which is then formed with fine craftsmanship. The gunite hardens to create the strong shell of the swimmingpool. Talented Tile workers come in next to install waterline tile laying each piece with precision and perfection so when the swimming pool is complete; the tile is aligned straight and looks beautiful. Hard-working masons install any stonework, rock waterfalls, or masonry to help get this project near completion. The last and final major step in swimming pool construction is either plaster or pebble installation. This is the final coat that gives a pool and spa its beautiful finish. Whether it be a white plaster or a blue rock-blend pebble finish, your California Pools swimming pool is definitely finished with another layer of fine labor by the wonderful workers who put in their time, energy, and craft to build a stunning backyard.
So while many people may have forgotten the meaning behind Labor Day, California Pools will always appreciate our fine hard working laborers who meticulously craft our award winning swimming pools. We take pride in every pool we build. Every waterfall we craft is built to last and look beautiful with the water trickling down. Each and every outdoor kitchen is built with talented workers who care to build you the very best. California Pools wouldn’t have it any other way. On Monday, as you enjoy your Labor Day, remember all of the hard working men and women who have built us a beautiful America!
