San Antonio 110 9/11 Memorial Climb 2015

To honor this 14th Anniversary of that tragic September 11th attack on New York, we thought we'd recommend an event for local San Antonio, TX residents to participate in!  The San Antonio 110 9/11 Memorial Climb is taking place this September 11th, 2015 at The Tower of the Americas.  You can start checking in between 6:00 A.M. and 7:30 A.M. at 739 E. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd., San Antonio, TX 78205.

Here's some more information from the event webpage:

San Antonio 110 9/11 Memorial Climb is a very specific type of 9/11 memorial. There is a reason it is not a 5K, a bike ride, or any other type of event. There is a reason it is specifically a climb: to pay tribute to the climb that our 343 fallen firefighter brothers made on September 11th, 2001. On 9/11/2015, we will again gather here in our great city of San Antonio, Texas to pay our respects once again. We will climb the represented 110 floors of the World Trade Center to complete the climbs for, and pay tribute to, our brothers who perished that day. We climb to complete their climb in honor of them, in tribute to them, and for them.

343 tags will be carried for each of our fallen firefighter brothers up the stairs of the Tower of the Americas. There will also be 71 tags for the fallen Law Enforcement Officers and 9 for EMS personnel. We will climb these stairs twice to reach (and actually exceed) the 110 floors of the World Trade Center to pay tribute to each. We will complete these climbs for them and their accountability tag will be placed on an accountability board at the top. There are many other symbolic moments and events represented in this event as well to pay respect and honor the lost lives of our brothers of 9/11.
