Ruben is an award winning pool designer that specializes in pool construction & outdoor luxury living projects. He has been designing swimming pools and outdoor luxury living projects for 25+ years in Texas. He has won numerous design awards with APSP, his pool has made the front cover of Aqua magazine in 2009, Kathy Huber a writer for the Chronicle wrote an article on Ruben "How a Elegant this backyard is" in the Texas magazine and Pool & Spa news has recognized him on numerous pool construction projects. We sat down with Ruben to learn more about him and this is what he shared with us.
Q: How long you have worked for California Pools?
A: I've been working with California Pools | San Antonio, TX for about a year. I was previously the Manager of the Houston office for 4 years.
Q: Why do you love being a part of the California Pools Family?
A: I like working for California Pools because it is family owned, has a great team work ethic, and a reputation that you can be proud of.
Q: What is the [Weirdest/Wildest} moment you have experienced while working with California Pools?
A: Building a Bud Light pool and getting a call years later when the owner quit drinking and had me remodel the pool design.
Q: How do you enjoy spending your downtime?
A: I enjoy watching my favorite football team - Dallas Cowboys with my family during my downtime.

A: Without a doubt, Football.

A: My favorite actor is Tom Hanks / Favorite Movie is Top Gun / Favorite Musician is George Strait

Q: If you could be any Super Hero, who would you be?
A: If I could be a Super Hero I would be Super Man because he is practically invincible he's strong and suppose to be a good role model for everyone but maybe, just maybe I could fix the problems we have in our world today!

A: Hawaii by the beach
Q: Describe your Favorite California Pool Project?
A: My most favorite pool project is a vanishing edge pool project built for one of the top realitors in the city that lived in a gated country club on the ninth hole of the golf course. This pool had fire bowls on the raised columns where the pool could be seen from the front door that made it seem the water was flowing into the pond on the golf course. The glass tile took 6 weeks to come in, but it was well worth the wait! This pool eventually made the front cover of the local newspaper!
Q: What is your Favorite pool design?
A: I would say that the favorite design I like is a Grecian
Q: Tell us something we would not know or guess about you?
A: Believe it or not I was voted best body in high school!
